Firstly…. yes, I put a clip of Louis CK’s bit about a bag of dicks at the beginning…. yes, I added a minute worth of comedy to a guitar gear demo…..yes, some people are going to whine about it…… but you know what I say? I say Fuck Off….. Louis CK is the freakin man and god forbid you take the time out of your day to have a laugh and if it is too much for your delicate sensibilities then why are you watching a demo for a pedal called a BAG OF DICKS?!?!?! Alright, I’m kicking the soap box away….

Please make note gentlemen, for the first bit with the fuzz set at 9 o’clock, I am on the neck pickup to show you that at lower fuzz settings, you will actually get some ghost octave tones… listen…. hear it?…. do you hear it? Yeah, the BOD is cool like that :)

So, this is one nasty mother. Seriously, the grit that I was getting from this bad boy was almost like no other. I’ve actually played a vintage Jordan Bosstone and I will have to say, for the kind of fuzz tones I like for my music, I like the B.O.D better. The grit, hair and fizzle of this guy is much more up my alley than the “Spirit In The Sky” type of tone that the original Bosstone had. Don’t get me wrong, you can get something like that with the B.O.D too, just roll back the volume on your hippie stick until you find the sweet spot. Oh and while I am on that subject, just as described, the B.O.D does respond really well to your guitar’s volume and tone knobs. I was actually adjusting them during the demo. The B.O.D did exactly what I thought it would do…. deliver classic fuzz tones with a ton of grit. I mean, I feel like you can’t name your pedal a Bag of Dicks if it isn’t just pure raunchy awesomeness :)

So, the Humbuckers on the Ripper gave this thing a TON of crunch. I mean, I found it to be down right rude with the Humbuckers. Now, it is important to remember, the Humbuckers on my Ripper are pretty high gain and being that Humbuckers are typically dark, you will most likely have to really adjust your amp’s brightness… even from mine, you can hear that I had it just a bit too dark… at least for my tastes and I actually did adjust the treble and mids up on the amp a bit more than I usually do. But, with that said, you can really get that fuzz tone that sounds like your amp is just about ready to explode…. all circuits are a go my friends! Don’t be deceived by only the two knobs… this thing has balls to accompany its dicks. Check it out!

Not much info really available on the web about the B.O.D except that the people that own it truly love it.

From the Willie’s American Guitar’s site:

Straight from the mind of our extraordinary amp tech, Casey Gooby, the B.O.D. is based on the classic Jordan Bosstone fuzz, with modern accoutrements like a 9V jack and a status LED. Sounds incredible, from smooth and fat to crazy sub-octave weirdness.
