Firstly, in all seriousness, I love this pedal. The cool thing about a Harmonic Percolator is that there is something so familiar about its sound, yet, at the same time, there is something so unique about its tone. To explain a little bit about a Harmonic Percolator for those that are not familiar with them… the design of these is such that as the signal passes through, you are given the even order harmonics while the pedal suppresses odd order harmonics. These even order harmonics are more pleasing to the ear than odd order harmonics. The original is one of those legendary and mysterious guitar effect pedals. It is often regarded as a unique entry in the sometimes predictable realm of distortion.
Yes, you are correct…. the picture above really has nothing to do with anything, but since I was doing the Bond thing, I figured this was one of the more memorable girls from a Bond flick…. and no, she didn’t die because of the gold paint, that is just an urban legend 
Back to the pedal…. The MP-1 is a more updated take on the mythical original, giving you switches for Germanium diode clipping and a MOSFET feature. This really gives the MP grit and some background sizzle….Steve Albini ( recording engineer extraordinaire, all around man of awesomeness, and singer/guitarist for Shellac) is a huge fan of Harmonic Percolators and had some clones made for his friends in Pussy Galore…..Jon Spencer fans should be familiar The Mellifluous Pussy is a kinda cross between the Harmonic Percolator and the Pussy Fuzz that Steve had built to mimic the original HP for Pussy Galore. But it uses bigger feedback resistors for more fuzz and to even out the tonal differences with the wildly variable gain of different 2n404a’s.
So, this one is not as unpredictable as the original, but it does still have its own fair share of variation. Check it out!

Announcing pre orders of Inductor Guitars first product, the MP-1. Otherwise known as the Mellifluous Pussy fuzz pedal. (Or Percolator for the G-rating crowd) The MP-1 is a Harmonic Percolator clone with a few tweaks. It has a 2N404a germanium transistor for the first stage, germanium diode clipping on/off switch and a mosfet clipping on/off switch for a tubey crunch. You can switch on both clipping stages for a compressed sound. True bypass, hand made, whiskey drinking, smoking hot, beer guzzling, ass grabbing.

FBG – This is Q. Despite all the rumours and the MP-1′s huge bark and growl, it does not bite. I’m sure you are well aware of that fact. How do the Americans say it? Ah yes! You’ve been “all up in it”. Yes? And please tell people that the MP-1 does NOT have vagina dentata. One quick look inside and you’ll see what a nice sweet mellifluous pussy it is.
